The International Military Advisory Training Team Sierra Leone (IMATT SL) requested specialist engineer support to investigate the provision of remote Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces Forward Patrol Bases with sustainable water.

The Royal Engineers, 521 Squadron have been aiding in the boring of water holes for the Sierra Leone Army. This is to enable them to have fresh water for soldiers who are patrolling in the regions.
